Junior Software Engineer

Cloud Construct is currently looking for a junior software engineer available for a full-time role. A qualified candidate will have the ability to work within a small company environment, be willing to assume multiple responsibilities and must demonstrate strong development skills. This person will also have strong written and oral communication skills, all while working well in a team environment.

As a member of our team you will report directly to the Web Development lead and be involved in planning and execution of a variety of projects for our clients. Cloud Construct is a completely virtual company so you will be operating from your home office while being available occasionally to interface with clients and our team.

Strong troubleshooting skills as well as the ability to maintain and write organized code are skills are paramount for this role. A qualified candidate will demonstrate the ability to support existing projects and guarantee our clients continued success. Self organization, an agile mindset, and the ability to directly provide value to our client base will be very important.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent field, plus 3+ years of relevant experience
  • Track record of being a top performer in current and past roles
  • 3+ years of experience in the software engineering field focused on web

Interactive Developer

Do you have mad skills building User Interfaces in HTML/CSS/JS? We are looking for a highly motivated and efficient front-end developer with skills focused on the CSS and HTML side, but who may be happy to code a JavaScript widget or maybe veer into a framework like Angular if the need comes up. The more dev skills the better, but we need someone with a solid understanding of modern layout coding practices and tooling like SASS, gulp, and templating engines like handlebars or the like.

Strong ability to analyze layout requirements from design documentation and work those requirements into smart, scalable, responsive HTML and CSS is an absolute necessity. A mindset for writing modular code that is easily maintainable and understandable is essential. You will regularly work with JS engineers to couple user interface designs to framework components in Angular or React or the like.

Project Manager

A qualified candidate will have the ability to work within a small company environment, be willing to assume multiple responsibilities and must demonstrate strong development skills. This person will also have strong written and oral communication skills, all while working well in a team environment.

As a member of our team you will be involved in the planning and execution of a variety of large scale design and development projects for our clients. Cloud Construct is a completely virtual company, so you will be operating from your home office while being available occasionally to interface with clients and our team. You need to own communication and coordination internally and externally and be able to maintain timeline and budget, while also becoming the client advocate.

Responsibilities

  • Help scope, plan and budget a project from idea to launch with internal SMEs
  • Manage and track to the defined plan, managing the team and client to control scope and progress
  • Assist in scoping new project requests, determine needed creative/development resources, and coordinate staff assignments
  • Ensure all website projects have detailed requirements, schedules, appropriate staffing, and deliverable milestones
  • Manage the workflow and review process, including internal reviews and external approvals
  • Communicate regularly with clients, project team and support resources to review existing work items and prioritize requests
  • Work with staffing manager to plan resources necessary to meet the ongoing needs of existing clients

Requirements

  • A minimum of four years’ experience as a Project Manager running multiple web projects simultaneously and successfully
  • Excellent relationship, client management, and communication skills
  • High-energy individual that generates enthusiasm in the team and with clients
  • Experience with website workflow and best practices
  • Understanding of the website development process and terminology

User Experience Designer

Do you have a passion for creating awesome experiences in web sites and applications? We are looking for a driven, self-starter who excels in working with stakeholders to nail down functional requirements, devise and document usable interactions, and craft experiences that strengthen brands and make life easier for users.

We need an analytical mind who sees big-picture concerns and pays strict attention to details of interactions and usability. We need someone who can effectively communicate ideas to clients, listen to clients and users, and consider all factors in crafting a compelling user experience. Someone very good at designing and communicating experiences that “knock it out of the park” with clients.

We like multi-talented folks, so if you have coding chops or visual design chops on top of the above, even better. Experience in user testing is something we�d love to see, but at the very least we�d want you to be dreaming up experiences that obey usability principles out of the gate, and that are likely to test well with users.

UX tooling can vary at Cloud, depending on what will present well project-to-project and what will work well within our flexible, lean process. We have settled on mostly Axure for interactive prototypes outside of code, and build some deliverables in InVision, Adobe XD, and InDesign as well. Flat wireframes, higher fidelity mockups crafted in tandem with creative�whatever works to sell an experience.

Cloud Construct is a decentralized organization with team members working remotely or in client offices�co-working spaces are used quite a bit to bridge the gaps when needed.
